On 1971 June 11– Pantabangan as an old town three hundred twenty years old by this date. His excellency President Ferdinand E. Marcos ,Congresswoman Leopoldo Diaz and Angel Conception of the first and second district respectively of Nueva Ecija, Gov. Eduardo Joson, City and Municipal mayors of Nueva Ecija, Provincial Commander with President Security Unit including Col. Alexander L. Felix, P.C. and many others arrived for a ground breaking ceremony in Palayupay, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, to signal the beginning of the construction of Pantabangan Dam. Republic Act 5499, s- 1969 for 34 million dollars.

Main Tourist attraction in the City of Cabanatuan is the Pangatian Concentration Camp located at Brgy Pangatian, Cabanatuan City Pangatian Shrine read as: On the night of January 30, 1945, Filipino Guerillas under Captains Juan Pajota and Eduardo Joson effectively prevented Japanese reinforcements at Pangatian Concentration Camp in Cabanatuan. The battle of Cabu Bridge and the Blockade at Bangad resulted in the Liberation of 516 allied prisoners of war the joint operation of the Guerillas, Alamo Scouts, and the US 6th Ranger Batallion War under Lt. Col. Henry Mucci. This event is considered one of the successful rescue missions of its type in the annals of US Military History.
